Sara Mutande

Sara was born and raised in Barcelona Spain until making the move to Auckland New Zealand a few years ago. After graduating in Fine Arts she spent many years experimenting with the art forms of painting and engraving. Her work combines techniques such as watercolour, gouache, graphite pencil and digital collage. She has exhibited her organic textural works in prestigious galleries such as the Almazen and Niu in Barcelona.

Sara’s images are derived from the surreal worlds that play in her mind like lucid dreams throughout the day. Her work is often filled with interesting compositions, pastel colours and curvilinear forms. She communicates with a peculiar and delicate language, both in narrative and illustration.
