Vanessa Lewis

When an opportunity to study in Paris under still life specialist Guido Mocafico presented itself, Vanessa grabbed it beret and camera in hand. Through Guido’s teachings and her passion for good food, she found her niche in food photography. An award-winning photographer who has published numerous cookbooks, Vanessa won the Gourmand World Award for her book ‘Savour’. She has photographed celebrity chefs such as Jamie Oliver, Paul Bocuse and Roger Vergé. Her warm personality, professionalism and passion for photographic excellence has gained regular commissions from clients such as Colman’s, Ferrero Rocher, Intercontinental Hotels, KFC, McDonalds and Nando’s.

Vanessa’s photographic style is fresh and sophisticated with an ability to cross between advertising, editorial and publishing. Her experience and capabilities enable her to swing from highly controlled, clean, stylised concepts to loose, organic atmospheric briefs with a natural rustic aesthetic. A truly versatile artist who now calls New Zealand her home.
