Francesca Melis

Originally from the beautiful island of Sardinia, Francesca now calls New Zealand her home. Her illustrations, abundant with plants and florals, celebrate her childhood spent in close contact with nature and animals. An avid researcher, her work often references the ancient embroideries and textures from the rich cultural heritage of the island she comes from.

A multi-disciplinary creative, Francesca’s work is heavily influenced by psychedelic colour palettes, vintage designs from the ’60s and ’70s, Victorian botanical prints and medieval iconography.
