Minky Stapleton

Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, Minky lived a number of years in Sydney, Australia before settling in Auckland, New Zealand. She spent her formative years honing her conceptual skills as an award-winning Art Director and later Creative Director. During this time she worked in some of South Africa’s best advertising agencies, including the infamous TBWA Hunt Lascaris. After many years in agencies, she gave up the long meetings, late-night shoots and corporate cabs, to follow her first love illustration.

Minky’s knowledge of the language of advertising, coupled with her conceptual approach to solving briefs has earned her an excellent reputation and client base. She is a multifaceted illustrator with a range of styles from serious to silly, all with a heavy dash of dark humour. A homage to her Afrikaans roots.
