Isobel Te Aho-White

Wellington based and of Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Kahungunu ki te Wairoa and Pākehā decent, Isobel was obsessed with drawing from a young age. Equipped with a Bachelor of Design (Hons) from Massey University, her illustrations have been gracing some of New Zealand’s best picture books of late.

With a wide range of styles to draw from, Isobel’s versatility stems from her technical training and appetite for experimentation. A self-described perpetual seeker, her many influences include 18th century botanical illustrations, Slavic and Chinese folk art, mythology, ukiyo-e and her experience as tangata whenua.
