Valerie Auersperg

Half Austrian, half Italian, Valerie grew up in the beautiful countryside of Austria and now resides in New Zealand. Drawing and colouring for as long as she can remember, she went on to study fashion, animation and graphic design before working as an art director. She has lived and worked in Vienna, Milan, London and Melbourne and her global travels continue to inform her work.

Competent in both traditional and digital drawing, Valerie creates pop-surrealist illustrations that reflect the world around us, pairing the expected with the unusual. Her work is a whimsical commentary on our inner journeys, often with a dose of optimism and a sprinkle of escapism. Valerie uses soft lines and vivid colours aimed to bring a smile and sense of joy to the observer.
