The South Island is home to two iconic trains, the Coastal Pacific and the TranzAlpine. Known as two of the world’s most spectacular train journeys, Kiwirail and agency Bigfish wanted to capture the magic and commissioned Nic Staveley to shoot a stunning suite of images. Over four days he witnessed the untouched eastern coastline, native bush, charming coastal towns and dramatic seascapes of the Coastal Pacific. Not to be surpassed by the striking beauty of the Southern Alps, the ice-fed Waimakariri River and unique native beach forests of the TranzAlpine.
